Castes and Classes at the time of Maurya Era.
India is known for their big and comical history. But not every time all claims by Indians are truth. Largest religion in India is Hinduism there myths and Religious Scriptures are to much comical. They claims that Hinduism is existed from 1.96 Billion years ago. Arya Samaj is newly branch of Hinduism like Budhism and Jainism. Arya Samaji believed Vedas are self write scriptures of God from beginning of Life on Earth. Vedas are religious scriptures for Hindus and Arya Samajis. Arya Samaji believing that God is One. But Hinduism is to much hard into that.
But we are here to talk about Era of Mauryas in India. So, Hindus (Arya Samaji also) believed that Vedas were written before 1.96 Billion years ago. They have a Little scripture like a constitution which is called Manusmriti. Manusmriti claimed Hindus are divided into four classes, Brahmins, Kshatrya, Vaishya and Shudras as you know. Also Hinduism claimed that Manusmriti is to much Ancient Scripture like Vedas etc. When we talk about Maurya Era we found there wasn't any type castes like Manusmriti which was Described to the world.
Actually many Dalits (Shudras) are punishing by Swarns (Brahmin and Kshtryas) because of Manusmriti scripture. At the time of Mauryas, there was an European Philosopher. His name was Magathanese. He wrote a Indica named book.
He describes Indian classes Like
1. Philosophers - The Intelligent guys which was well educated and smart in the state.
2. Farmers - As you know about farmers, they are the important part of the state. Everyone respects them.
3. Animal Farming - Animal farming was most important job on that time. They were providing milk & meat to the state.
4. Carpenters/Engineers - They makes weapons for Army, farming tools for farmers, civil engineering etc.
5. Army - As you know army is for security of peoples.
6. Businessmen/Shopkeepers - Who provides all needs to the peoples. eg. food & services.
7. Poor Class - they are the consumers.
One thing is that there wasn't any type of pressure on anyone that Son of Farmers will be Farmer. this is liquid anyone can do any job as his qualities.
